About the role
We're looking for a legal representative to manage Fluxer's legal obligations across data protection, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. You'll handle GDPR requests, copyright notices, law enforcement enquiries, and the changing regulatory landscape that comes with operating a communications platform in the EU and beyond.
Fluxer is headquartered in Sweden and serves users worldwide. This role needs a strong grasp of European data protection law and the judgement to handle cross-border legal questions in a practical, risk-aware way.
What you'll do
- Process and respond to GDPR data subject requests (access, deletion, portability, rectification)
- Handle DMCA and copyright takedown notices and counter-notices
- Manage law enforcement requests and legal process (preservation orders, production orders, court orders)
- Ensure compliance with the EU Digital Services Act, e-Privacy Directive, and related regulations
- Draft and maintain privacy notices, terms of service, and other legal documentation
- Advise teams on data protection impact assessments and privacy-by-design practices
- Oversee cookie consent, data processing agreements, and third-party vendor compliance
- Respond to regulatory enquiries and maintain working relationships with data protection authorities
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in legal, compliance, or data protection at a technology company, law firm, or regulatory body
- Strong working knowledge of GDPR and EU data protection law
- Familiarity with DMCA processes and intellectual property fundamentals
- Experience handling law enforcement requests and understanding of legal process requirements
- Excellent written communication and ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage concurrent requests to deadline
Nice to have
- Experience with Swedish data protection law (dataskydd) and the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY)
- Familiarity with the EU Digital Services Act and its obligations for online platforms
- Understanding of sekretess (confidentiality) requirements under Swedish law
- Experience with data protection in open source software contexts
- CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent privacy certification
- Additional language skills, especially Swedish
