Software Engineer (Infra/DevOps)

About the role
We're looking for an infrastructure and DevOps engineer to help build and maintain the systems that keep Fluxer running reliably for people around the world. You'll own our deployment pipelines, container orchestration, database operations, and the developer experience that helps the rest of the team ship with confidence.
Fluxer runs on a polyglot stack of backend services, actor-model concurrency for real-time messaging, relational and wide-column databases, caching layers, and object storage. The entire codebase is open source, so you can inspect it before you apply. If you enjoy making complex systems dependable and straightforward to operate, this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for a polyglot codebase
- Manage container orchestration and deployment infrastructure
- Operate, tune, and troubleshoot production databases
- Build developer tooling and improve the local development experience
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and alerting
- Collaborate with product engineers to make services production-ready
- Manage secrets, certificates, and security hardening across environments
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Strong experience with Linux systems administration and shell scripting
- Hands-on experience with containerisation and deployment automation
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems
- Experience operating production databases (relational, wide-column, or key-value)
- Comfortable with monitoring and observability tooling
Nice to have
- Experience with reproducible build systems (such as Nix)
- Familiarity with deploying and operating actor-model runtimes in production
- Experience with S3-compatible object storage and CDN configuration
- Working knowledge of network security, TLS, and DNS management
- Background in managing infrastructure for real-time communication systems
