About this future role
This role is not currently open. We keep this page to show the legal and privacy work we may hire for later, and we accept applications now for a future hiring round.
When this role opens, our privacy and legal counsel will look after Fluxer's legal and privacy programme, covering data protection, intellectual property, and the regulatory side of running a communications platform. You'll handle GDPR requests, copyright notices, law-enforcement enquiries, and the moving regulatory landscape that comes with operating in the EU and beyond.
We're headquartered in Sweden and our users are spread all over the world, so it's a role that pulls together European data protection law, cross-border legal questions, and a calm, practical sense of risk.
What you'll do
- Process GDPR data subject requests (access, deletion, portability, rectification) and reply with the human warmth they should always have
- Handle DMCA and copyright takedown notices and counter-notices
- Manage law-enforcement requests and legal process (preservation, production, court orders)
- Keep us aligned with the EU Digital Services Act, e-Privacy Directive, and the regulations around them
- Draft and maintain privacy notices, terms of service, and the rest of our public legal documentation
- Advise teams on data protection impact assessments and privacy-by-design choices
- Look after cookie consent, data processing agreements, and third-party vendor compliance
- Be our point of contact with data protection authorities and regulatory enquiries
What we're looking for
- 2+ years in legal, compliance, or data protection at a technology company, law firm, or regulatory body
- Strong working knowledge of GDPR and EU data protection law
- Familiarity with DMCA processes and the basics of intellectual property law
- Hands-on experience with law-enforcement requests and the procedure around them
- Writing that explains legal concepts to non-lawyers without dumbing them down
- Organised enough to juggle several concurrent requests, all on deadlines
Nice to have
- Experience with Swedish data protection law (dataskydd) and the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY)
- A read on the EU Digital Services Act and what it means for online platforms
- An understanding of sekretess (confidentiality) requirements under Swedish law
- Experience with data protection in open source software contexts
- CIPP/E, CIPM, or an equivalent privacy certification
- Additional language skills, especially Swedish
