You can start using Fluxer with only a name, without an email or a password.
Start with just a name
- On the Fluxer homepage, click "Open in browser".
- Type the name people will see and press Enter. Any language and emoji work.
- Fluxer opens in your browser with your name filled in. Select "Create account". The note above the button says that creating the account means you accept the terms of service, and links the privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data. Your account is created at this point, and you're signed in right away.
In the app, choose "Continue without email" on the sign-in screen, type your name and select "Create account". The same note about the terms is above the button.
Your name can be up to 32 characters. We make your username from it with a number tag, and you never have to hunt for a free one. If the name has a word that isn't allowed, a message under the field asks for another. You can change both in "User settings".
Start with your email
Enter your email on the sign-in screen at web.fluxer.app/login. If no account uses that address, we email you a 6-digit code. Enter it and select "Create account", which accepts the terms of service as the note above the button says. Your account is ready with the email already confirmed, and we pick a username that you can change in "User settings".
Your date of birth comes first
Right after your account is created, the app asks for your date of birth, once, before anything else. Minimum age requirements explains why and what happens next.
What a new account can do
An account started with only a name can read and join communities and set up its profile, but it can't send messages or contact other people yet. Claim your account lists what you can do once you add an email and what needs the email to be confirmed.
Passwords and passkeys are optional
You never need a password to use Fluxer. Once your account has an email, you can add a password in "User settings". Once the email is confirmed, you can add a passkey or security key and an authenticator app there too. Sign in to Fluxer explains each one.
